Recent finds

To start off, this is my happy picture of the day... ahhh, something about this just makes me feel relaxed.

I couldn't resist this moss and nature inspired centerpiece! ooh lala

I'm really digging cake/dessert tables like these! This has got to be the best part of a wedding reception, dang!!

How beautiful is this cake? Thank you Martha Stewart, for being such a perfectionist... I guess.

Ahem, do I see an acorn boutonniere?

New Obsession

Two things I found on Etsy that I WANT/NEED. Drooling....

And now for my new obsession....Fenton Hobnail Milk Glass.

I bought this same piece and another similar one at the flea market on Friday and now I want to start collecting them! I want to use these two pieces at the reception!

Jealous

Every stinkin' inch of this wedding is gorgeous and I am jealous!

The colors..... ahhhmazing.

Also, getting more and more excited about our photographers, Lovely Union! I think they are going to be a perfect match for us.

Today ended up being a snow day for me, so we are about to head to the Nashville Flea Market and I am pumped!!! Whoo
We have also started working on our wedding website and we found a burnt orange 'acorn theme' for it and I love it.

lewedding

Sarah recently showed me a new blog to be obsessed with and she was right on!

Also, she reminded me of something I meant to put on here, the string globes/lanterns I plan on making this summer:

I have also thought about making these? Any thoughts?

Story of My Life

Feeling like Charlie Brown today.

For years this has happened to me:

Mom- "Since you will have a new bedroom, why don't you pick out your own paint colors and a theme!"

Mallory- "Ooo! I know! Something I've never seen, like a sun and moon theme...navy, gold sun and moon! stars! Its going to be so different, I love it!"

Then everywhere we went the new trend was dark blue with stars and suns and moons- i mean, everywhere.

Mallory- "I think I'm really into birds this year... I want some jewelry with birds on it, maybe some clothes, and ooo! those old glass birds for my new apartment!"

EVERYwhere I went for the next two years was just birds...birds mocked me at every store I went in. Everyone at my new school was wearing birds, birds on their sweater, swallow tattoos, bird earrings..." aggg

And most recently,

Mallory- "GASP! I have the best idea EVERRRR! Instead of all those flowers, I want to do the 'missippi' thing and use some of my Aunt's real cotton for decorations at the wedding!!! It is going to be so neat."

Last night I signed up to start getting the Martha Stewart Wedding email-a-day's and the very first one I got was today and this is what it was:

Is it not so much to ask that for once I can have an idea all to myself? To feel original ? The post had pictures of this couple using cotton everywhere. The tables, the chairs, hanging from places- it was like they had ripped all of my mental images out of my head and put it on a computer screen for the whole world to see and I was mad. They even had the nerve to use my PINECONES! the line was drawn, the straw had been broken...they went too far.

Too many ideas

This just makes me happy- hello, Mrs. Fox!

I want to make this!

Love the vintage looking white cake. No frilly exact designs on my cake, No Ma'am. The more imperfect the better.

I like the use of wood and pine cones here :)

Thinking of ways to decorate a tent and noticed some of my colors.

Pine cones, Acorns, Squirrels, OH MY!

Liking the idea of hanging fabric/lace/quilts outside for some photo ops.

How do you feel about the menu? I need some votes.

Would it be a southern wedding without a mason jar?

I always come back to this picture- wondering if I can make it myself?....

I'm playing with the idea of using some cotton instead of flowers. I'm really liking the flower alternatives and how neat would it be to have some fluffy white cotton ?

Again with the lights.

Annnd I'm overwhelmed. The more I look, the more I see. At least some of it is saved here.

Inspiration

My first inspiration for the wedding....

This movie is so happy and this exact movie poster is framed and hanging on a wall that faces me as I fall asleep every night. I love the colors, the fabrics, the acorns, the animals- all of it. Everything in the movie is orange!

Then I came across this - now we're cookin!
